Marquette – The community is invited to tour the Fredeen Art Project with the Lake Superior Art Association on Tuesday, January 18 at 7 p.m. at Marquette Senior High School.
The exhibit includes original art by Nita Engle, Kathleen Conover, Paul Grant, Tom Cappuccio, Gene Bertram and many more. Bertram, a retired art teacher, will lead the tour offering insights on the project.
The exhibit includes a variety of paintings commissioned by history teacher Hans Fredeen to show early scenes of Marquette for the enjoyment of MSHS students. Fredeen donated $75,000 to the Marquette school district, and 16 local artists were chosen to complete the works, which were installed at the school in 1990.
Attendees are asked to park in the school’s west lot and use the pool entrance. For more information, call 250-7364.
