Negaunee – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will sponsor a walking tour of the 1864 Negaunee Jackson Mine and 1970 Jackson Old Towne on Thursday, August 12 at 1 p.m.
Robert Dobson, Old Towne committee member and author of “The City Built at the Shiny Mountain,” will take participants to old mine pits, tunnels and streets of the “ghost” town area of west Negaunee.
Participants may meet at 12:30 p.m. at the Berry Events Center in Marquette and car pool, or meet at the mine location at 1 p.m. Cost is $5, with a Monday, August 9 registration deadline.
