PWPL Announce Art Week activities for week of June 23rd!

Marquette’s Peter White Public Library has announced the lineup of community events they will be hosting for Art Week! For more information and to check the status of the program, call 906-226-4323 or visit www.pwpl.info.

Youth Community Art- Tye-Dye Flags Monday June 23 (4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.), Tuesday June 24 (10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.), Wednesday June 25 (1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.), 2025. Peter White Public Library Great Room. Youth of all ages are invited to drop in to one of the Tye-Dye Flag Community Art sessions to design and dye a unique rainbow Flag. The flags will be added to a Community Art display in the Youth Services Room and will remain on display throughout the summer. Youth can retrieve their flags and take them home after August 1. Block Busting Cinema Dinner & a Movie: Wicked  Monday, June 23, 2025.  5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Community Room.  Adults, Teens, Seniors.  Bring a wickedly delicious dinner for the movie! Tables will be available for dining. In this musical adaptation, Wicked (2024) reveals the untold story of Oz’s witches. Starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, the film follows Elphaba and Glinda—two unlikely friends whose bond is tested by power, destiny, and the forces that shape good and evil. Ann Berman Louis Graveraet Kaufman:  The Fabulous Michigan Gatsby Who Conquered Wall Street, Took Over General Motors, and Built the World’s Tallest Building Reading Thursday, June 26, 2025.  6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Shiras Room.  Adults, Seniors, Family Friendly.  Michigan historian Ann Berman reads from her biography about the life and legacy of local titan of American banking, Louis Graveraet, a Gatsbyesque figure born in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula who married into great wealth and then amassed far more of his own.
