Attention kids, parents, mountain bikers, and Elvis enthusiasts! To commemorate its 25th anniversary, the Ore to Shore will be participating in both the Marquette and Ishpeming parades, and everyone is invited to join in the celebration by walking or riding in the parades.
To mark this special occasion, “Almost Elvis” will be performing on the Ore to Shore float, bringing the King of Rock and Roll to life. Participants are encouraged to decorate their bikes and wear their favorite Ore to Shore t-shirt. Kids 13 and under who dress up as Elvis and join the parade will receive free entry to one of the kids’ events at the 2024 Ore to Shore. The top adult Elvis impersonator will win free entry to the 2024 race. Costume judging will be done by Almost Elvis and the Michigan TCB Mafia.
Everyone is welcome to join the parade, whether they decorate their bike or dress up as Elvis. Participating in a 4th of July parade is a wonderful tradition that creates lasting memories for kids and families alike.
Parade Details:
Marquette Parade – Thursday, July 4th: Line up on McClellan Street near the L&M Fleet Supply (old Shopko). Parade lineup is from 12:45 PM to 1:15 PM, with the parade starting at 2:00 PM. Streets will be barricaded after 1:15 PM, so arrive early to park. Everyone is welcome, whether in costume or wearing an Ore to Shore shirt from past years.
Ishpeming Parade – Saturday, July 6th: Lineup starts at 9:00 AM, with the parade beginning at 10:30 AM. The lineup location will be posted on the Ishpeming Independence Day Celebration Facebook Page on July 5th. Check this page to find the meeting spot.
