Marquette, MI – Jan 19, 2023
Declared by the NOAA , a winter storm warning is in effect today. You may have seen on T.V., heard on the radio, or gotten an alert on your phone, but just in case you didn’t hear, this is your heads up! The snowflakes are stacking up and snow removal vehicles are getting at it everywhere you go. Take this as a caution. Drivers are ending up in the median, on the shoulder and slip sliding down US-41 right now. If you can help it, staying home today might be the wisest course of action. The snowstorm is forecasted to continue through until tomorrow. So, if you do have to drive, don’t forget to pack an extra blanket, water, and food in the car. Of course, dress for the worst case scenario. You don’t want to be caught in the cold unprepared.
Another important note for the pet owners: Don’t forget about your animals outside! Not all of our pets are made for this type of weather, so be conscious of how long your cat/dog is outdoors.
If you find yourself looking for something to do tune into our radio streams HERE. Otherwise, everyone enjoy the snow day and take advantage of the precipitation safely.
