NEA Big Read: Joy Harjo Capstone Party and Virtual Reading
Monday, November 15, 2021, 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Peter White Public Library Community Room. Teens, Family, Adults, Seniors. In this culmination of the NEA Big Read, tribal progressive band Waa we ye yaa plays a concert from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Then, three-time U. S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo reads virtually from An American Sunrise and speaks on the topic of reconnecting with the past, honoring ancestors, and coming to terms with historical injustices.
