The Marquette Regional History Center presents: Birchbark Canoe Build May 13-17

Marquette, MI – With gratitude to a Community Foundation grant, we are able to create a hands-on learning opportunity in our community. Rochelle Dale and Jan Zender will build a birchbark canoe in our gathering hall. School groups will visit the build and learn from Jan and Rochelle. The public is invited to stop in and observe during our open hours from May 13-17. We will have a special evening visit with the artisans, see below.

A Birchbark Canoe Build Open House is Wednesday, May 15th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. All ages welcome. Come with questions and time to observe the historic crafts experts at work. Donations accepted. For more information visit marquettehistory.org or call 906.226.3571.
