Ice Safety Equipment No Longer Available

Marquette, MI – Due to community response, Ice Safety Kit supplies have been exhausted and are no longer available at the Marquette City Fire Department.

Again, we thank the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community for the generous grant, which allowed us to provide approximately 390 Ice Safety Kits to local residents from 2017 to 2019. The Marquette City Fire Department would like to remind residents and visitors of Marquette to stay safe on Lake Superior this winter and recommend that they carry ice safety equipment such as self-rescue ice picks and whistle.
