There will be no admission fee for this event! The Carnival will feature entertainment for everyone, with singers, dancers, magicians, a professional yo-yoer, a comedy skit, a balloon artist, and more. Boy Band Review at Calumet Theatre Oct 19

Calumet, MI – The Boy Band Review takes the stage at Calumet Theatre on Saturday, October 19 @ 7:30 pm. Presented by your Houghton-area McDonald’s.

Boy Band Review is the original 90’s Boy Band tribute from Chicago. They have captured the hearts of fans with their show that transports audience members back in time to the days of frosted tips and hunky frontmen professing their undying love. Boy Band Review is an incredible throwback experience where fans relive the best years!

Bringing full production lights, video, choreography, harmonies and energy, Boy Band Review recreates the concert experience of ‘NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block, Boyz II Men, the Jonas Brothers, Hanson & more! Some of the songs featured include Bye Bye Bye by ‘NSYNC, Everybody (Backstreet’s Back) by the Backstreet Boys and MMMBop by Hanson. The group also performs a few songs from solo artists such as Justin Timberlake and Justin Bieber.

Boy Band Review previously had a residency at the Planet Hollywood Casino in Las Vegas and currently travels around the country, performing three to four nights a week at different festivals, amphitheaters, casinos and performance venues. 8th Annual Youth in the Outdoors Event Oct 12

Seney, MI – The 8th Annual Youth in the Outdoors Event is on Saturday, October 12th from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm at the Seney National Wildlife Refuge.

Seney National Wildlife Refuge is hosting a fall event to inspire youth to enjoy the outdoors. If you have kids, grandkids, friends with kids, or are a kid, and you want to participate send an email to gage_harris@fws.gov to be added to our mailing list and registration materials will be sent to you promptly. There will be several activities to choose from and scouts can earn badges or portions of badges. The activities include: archery, tracking and trapping, duck decoy painting, owl pellet dissection, wildlife CSI with a federal wildlife officer, a session on prescribed burns with a fire management specialist, and hands on lessons on birds, fish, insects, fungi, or frogs. Whatever your interests, there is something for everyone.

Things to consider if interested:
● This is a rain or shine event. Participants should wear clothing that is comfortable and appropriate for the weather and outdoor activities.
● All activities are geared towards kids in upper elementary school and older
(approximately 8 and up). Please help your children choose sessions appropriate to their abilities.
● Youth will need to bring a sack lunch the day of the event. Lunch is not provided.
● All youth must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
● Spots are limited, so make sure to register as soon as possible to ensure participants are included in the activities of their choice.

‘The Jungle Book’ at Calumet Theatre Oct 11 and 12

See local kids perform live on our historic stage as Compass Creative Dramatics presents The Jungle Book. Students grades one thru twelve are invited to audition on Monday, October 7th.
