20th Annual Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Epic August 10th

August 3, 2019

Marquette, MI – The Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Epic will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary on Saturday, August 10th! What started as a mere 480 racers has grown to well over 2,400–breaking records we never thought possible! This year, we are expecting an even more impressive turnout.

As we celebrate our 20th anniversary we will be having an Ore to Shore Raffle, the grand prize will be an O2S Quilt, yes, a quilt that Features all the t-shirts over the last 20 years. This quilt was carefully crafted by Time Flies Quilt & Sew and it is a work of art. Second prize will be a Rolf Prima 29-inch wheelset, and the third prize will be a two-night stay at the wonderful Staybridge Suites. Tickets will be for sale for $5 each or 5 tickets for $20. Drawing will take place at Lakeview Arena during the 02S Awards Ceremony. Contact us for various outlets that are selling tickets.

To add to the fun, we have invited our past winners and will be offering a cash prize to the first racer that reaches Misery Hill. We have also scanned over the historic race times and we have a cash purse set aside for the racers who break the course record in both the 48 Mile Hard Rock and the 28 Soft Rock.
The O2S is a point-to-point race, with riders gearing up at the start line in historic Negaunee, wherein 1844 iron ore was first discovered in the Superior region. The epic courses travel through Ishpeming, past towering head frames from underground mining, then moves north into the beautiful wilderness. Next, crossing or running alongside of the Dead River all the way into Marquette, racers eventually meet up with the Lake Superior shoreline.
