Teen Anime Film: ‘Spirited Away’

Marquette, MI – The Teen Anime Film: Spirited Away will play on Tuesday, April 9th from 3:30 pm- 5:30 pm in the Peter White Public Library Community Room. Students in grades 6 to 12 are invited to watch Hayao Miyazaki’s anime classic Spirited Away. Refreshments will be served. 2019 Spring Grower Produce Safety Certification Courses

Stephenson, MI – Michigan State University Extension will host the Food and Drug Administration-defined Produce Safety Alliance Grower Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) certification course at various locations, including two in the Upper Peninsula. Those interested in learning about Good Agricultural Practices (GAP’s), produce safety, co-management, and the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act Produce Safety Rule are invited to participate.

Faith and Climate Change Forum at Messiah Lutheran Church April 3rd

Marquette, MI – Messiah Lutheran Church is hosting a forum on faith and climate change Wednesday, April 3rd at 6:30 pm. Participants will explore the connections between faith and care for creation and how faith communities can work to prevent climate damage. The event will include information about the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s Creation Care Program and its partnership with EcoAmerica’s Blessed Tomorrow Program. There will also be a short presentation by Jordan Matterella, an NMU student who is a water steward with the Northern Great Lakes Water Initiative.
