Peter White Public Library Thanksgiving Closures

November 21, 2018

Marquette, MINovember 21, 2018 – Peter White Public Library will be closed Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23, 2018 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

The City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center will also be closed.

The library will resume normal business hours on Saturday, November 24, 2018. The arts center will resume normal business hours on Monday, November 26, 2018.

NMU Presents ‘Lighting Up the Holidays’

Marquette, MINovember 21, 2018 – Northern Michigan University will host its 31st annual Lighting Up the Holidays, a free family event for campus and community members. It will be held from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, November 28, in the University Center.

The event includes a tree lighting with President Fritz Erickson and Wildcat Willy, pictures with Santa by Daniele Carol Photography, cookies and refreshments, holiday card and ornament making, games, face painting, free books and performances by the NMU Cheer Team and New Attitudes dancers.

NCLL Offers Digital Photography Classes

November 21, 2018

Marquette, MINovember 21, 2018 – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will present “More than Beginning Photography” classes from 11 am to 1 pm on the following Wednesdays: November 28, January 23 and February 27. The registration deadline is Tuesday, November 20. Participants are welcome to attend one or all courses.

This course continues the use of digital camera photographic techniques and composition. Classroom assignments, in-class critiques and hands-on activities will be included.
