Annual Members Meeting – Hiawatha Music Co-op

Marquette, MINovember 1, 2018 – The Hiawatha Music Co-op will holds its’ Annual Members gathering and dance at the Barrel n Beam Brewery starting at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, November 3, 2018. The Members meeting is a time for past, present and future Co-op Members to gather to review 2018 Hiawatha events, select new Board members, learn more about future Co-op activities, learn how to become involved in the Co-op and enjoy the traditional tunes of The String Doctors. The Co-op Board of Directors provides a complimentary entrée for its Members and asks everyone to bring a side dish to pass.

Read Between the Wines November Fundraiser

Marquette, MINovember 1, 2018 – The Marquette Regional History Center and Literacy Legacy Fund of Michigan are holding a wine tasting Thursday November 8th, 2018, 5:30 to 7:30 PM. It will be at the History Center at 145 W. Spring Street in Marquette. Tickets are $35 and available now. This is a collaborative fundraiser to support literacy and local history.
Everyday Wines will provide expertise and a thoughtful wine selection to sample. Wines will playfully reflect the uncommon bonds Marquette County local history has to the wider world. We’ve always been a strangely connected place for a small city on Superior, and it’s time to toast our surprisingly cosmopolitan community.
Celebrated local history authors including Tyler Tichelaar and Sonny Longtine will read excerpts from their books. Members of the audience can buy signed books and discuss local history research and the art of writing with authors in a relaxed setting.… Read the rest
