2018 UP 200 Dryland Dash

Negaunee, MIOctober 9, 2018 – The 2018 UP 200 Dryland Dash will be held October 13th and 14th at the Negaunee Township Hall and Recreation Center as a collaboration between UPSDA and the Wisconsin Trailblazers Sled Dog Club. There will be 1 and 2-mile races over two days. Best times accumulated over the weekend will win trophies and prize money.

Exhibit About History of U.P. Healthcare at Marquette Regional History Center

Marquette, MI October 9, 2018 – The Marquette Regional History Center has a special exhibit called The Changing Face of Medicine – A History of U.P. Healthcare. The exhibit began on September 15th and runs through December 31st. Guests will learn about the evolution of regional medicine. The Marquette Regional History Center is open Monday – Friday from 10am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to 3pm.

NMU Fall Semester Job Fair October 16

Marquette, MIOctober 9, 2018 – Northern Michigan University students and alumni will have the opportunity to meet and talk with employers about job opportunities at the 51st Annual Fall Semester Job Fair, hosted by NMU Career Services. The fair will be held from 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the University Center.

There is no cost for students to attend the job fair, but they are encouraged to bring their NMU ID for check-in. Employers will get to share information with students in addition to recruiting for full-time or part-time positions, internships and summer staff. Listed below are the registration fees for employers looking to participate in the 2018-2019 job fairs:

  • For-profit organizations: $100 (includes a table, chairs and lunch for 2 recruiters; additional recruiters will cost $15 each)
  • Non-profit organizations: $25 (includes a table, chairs and lunch for 2 recruiters; additional recruiters will cost $15 each)

Employers must register for this event by logging in to the Handshake app on the Cat Career Tracks website.

Students and alumni who plan to attend the event are encouraged to register beforehand via Cat Career Tracks-Handshake and to bring an ID to check in at the job fair in order to be placed into a drawing for a chance to win a prize. Ten winners will be selected and notified a day after the fair.
