36th Annual Old Victoria Craft Fair – August 19

Rockland, MI – Old Victoria’s Craft Fair is an event like no other! Browse handmade, original arts and crafts on the lawn of a historic copper mining village built in 1899. This historic site is the perfect setting for the day, and the restored hand-hewn log cabins will be open, free of charge, to the public for the day. Try one of the famous Victoria cinnamon rolls, baked from scratch in a traditional woodstove. Bring the kids to enjoy old-fashioned games and races that are a blast to join OR watch! Pasty Fest – August 18

Calumet, MI – Pasty Fest is a one day event that takes place every year as a celebration of the Cornish food staple, the pasty, which sustained Copper Country miners 100 years ago and satisfies hungry Yoopers today. Attendees can enjoy a parade, beer garden, street fair, live music and performances as well as children’s activities. We invite you to be the judge in our new Bake-Off Event where you have the chance to sample pasties from each pasty vendor in attendance!​

St.Mary’s Catholic School 4th Annual Proverbial Run/Walk 5K – August 18

Sault Ste. Marie, MI – This race will take you past some of the most historic sites Sault Ste Marie has to offer. We begin the race in front of St. Mary’s School in the shadow of Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church and the Tower of History. We run through Historic Downtown Sault Ste Marie and finish behind St. Mary’s School.

Registration and Packet Pick-up Information:

  • Early Registration fees are $12 per person. Early registration closes Friday, August 17, 2018 at 8 AM.Day of Run Registration fees are $15 per person
  • All race registrations include a T-Shirt.
  • Race numbers and shirts can be picked up from 4 PM to 6 PM Friday, August 17th or at 8 AM August 18th.
  • A family of 4 or more will receive a discount of $2 per person.

2nd Annual Soo Ultimate Paddle Day – August 18

Music on Third Street – August 16

Marquette, Mich.– Music on Third Street will be happening this Thursday, August 16, along the sidewalks of Third Street in Marquette’s Downtown District from 6:00- 8:00 p.m.

Presented by the Marquette Downton Development Authority, each summer this eclectic mix of local musicians will play ‘Music on Third Street’ the third Thursday of every month, June through September.

Come enjoy some great tunes this summer and wander into more than 100 unique shops and restaurants that line Third Street, Downtown Marquette!

Funday Sunday Benefit Concert – Kitty Donohoe

Bark River, MI – Aug. 19, at Northern Sun Winery, Bark River – Part of the summer concert series in the vineyard. The event will benefit a charity to be announced. Singer-songwriter Kitty Donohoe features Michigan and American folk music plus contemporary blues, Irish, and Canadian stylings. Free vineyard tour at 3 p.m. before the concert. Wine-tasting all afternoon; picnic lunches or snacking encouraged but no carry-in alcoholic beverages. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. Rain or shine. Tickets advance $10 at winery or Delta County Chamber of Commerce; $15 on day of concert. Vineyard is located south of Bark River; follow Travel Michigan directional signs from US 2 and signs on D Road (South Bark River Road).
