Out to Lunch – Dickinson County Community Chorus

Iron Mountain, MI – The annual “Out to Lunch” summer entertainment series with the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) on Thursdays at the intersection of Hughitt Street and Iron Mountain Street. Live entertainment for this year will include jazz, army band, bluegrass string, story telling troubador, chorus singing, swing, folk music, circus themed band, and more. Food vendors onsite, bring your chair and enjoy the shows.

International Food Festival – July 2-4

Marquette, Mich.– The 33rd International Food Festival will be held at Mattson Lower Harbor Park this year, July 2-4, from 12:00 p.m.- 10:30 p.m. *times are approximate and may change.

German, Asian, Italian, Mexican, Cajun, and American food favorites will be available along with free live entertainment! Fireworks will also take place at dusk on the fourth.

Free admission! Wheelchair accessible.

Park on the east side of the park: designated boat launch parking, Cinder Pond Marina Slip holder parking, & handicap accessible parking is available. Alternate parking will be downtown near the Lower Harbor Ore Dock.

Calumet, MI – The Glenn Miller Orchestra is the most popular and sought after big band in the world with its unique jazz sound is considered to be one of the greatest bands of all time. Led by vocalist Nick Hilscher, the 18 member ensemble plays original Miller arrangements and modern tunes and will get you “In the Mood” for an evening of excellent music.

Star Spangled 4th of July – Mackinac Island

Mackinac Island, MI – The historic island fort is decked out in patriotic finery with banners, flags and bunting.  It is an 1880’s Independence Day, with 38-gun salutes honoring the states of the period, performances of patriotic music, and Victorian children’s games.  Guests join the party and participate in Victorian dances and games on the fort parade ground.

No additional admission charge for this special event above standard Fort Mackinac admission rates.

Calumet, Mi. – The Calumet Art Center is offering wheel classes for beginners to advanced this Sunday, July 1 from 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.

Ed Gray will teach interested people how to use the wheel or learn more. Schedule your own 2-hour sessions at any time that suits your needs (between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.).

Ottawa Visitor Center Presents: Fire on the Landscape

Watersmeet, MI – Investigate the role of fire in landscape management with Lisa Gowe, Ottawa National Forest Assistant Fire Management Officer. Lisa will talk about fire management practices, such as prescribed burning, that are being used to manage the landscape and help return areas to pre-settlement conditions.
