Ghastly Mackinac – August 1

We’re highlighting the latter with Ghastly Mackinac, an evening experience showcasing the darker aspects of Fort Mackinac’s history. This guided tour will feature stories of crime and punishment, the legendary Beaumont experiments, the 1829 Christmas Mutiny, and more.

DNR Offers ‘Beyond BOW’ Mother-Daughter Event in Marquette County

Marquette, MI – The Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) Program is offering a Beyond BOW mother and daughter weekend workshop at the Little Presque Isle Cabins, located north of Marquette.

This July 13-15 weekend workshop is limited to eight participants. Opportunities include, kayaking, hiking, fire building, and wilderness first aid, for mothers and their daughters, ages 10 and up.

The cabins are located north of Marquette along Marquette County Road 510.

The $95 registration fee includes lunch and dinner on Saturday, two nights lodging in a rustic cabin at Little Presque Isle, a T-shirt and access to kayaks for the kayaking session. Participants will need to bring appropriate clothing for hiking and kayaking, as well as camping gear.
