Marquette, Mi.– The Fourth of July planning meeting for the Marquette Fourth of July Celebration will be at the Marquette Chamber of Commerce this Wednesday, May 30, from 10:00- 11:00 a.m.

The committee is made up of the Exchange Club, Kiwanis, Rotary and Marquette Chamber members, but all community members interested in helping are welcome to attend.

Each organization heads up a part of the celebration:

  • Kiwanis – Parade
  • Rotary – 50/50 for the Fireworks Endowment

Gentle yoga is on the spectrum between seated yoga and yin (restorative) yoga. This is a great gentle exercise class for young or old.

  • Tickets available at www.schedulicity.com. ($5 dollars/session)
  • Register for the class before coming as the instructor will be able to plan out the class and contact you if there may be a cancellation due to weather.
  • Arrive 10 minutes prior to class for check-in. Practice begins promptly!

WWI Remembered Holy Cross Cemetery Walk – May 29 & 31

Marquette, Mi.– The Marquette Regional History Center presents: WWI Remembered Holy Cross Cemetery Walk (tour) at the Chapel in the Holy Cross Cemetery this Tuesday, May 29, from 1:00- 3:00 p.m. and again this Thursday, May 31, from 6:00- 8:00 p.m.

This 13th Annual Cemetery Walk marks the 100 anniversary of WWI. The powerful stories of the men and women who served should never be forgotten.

Hear about Bill Gray, who was later well known as “Happy the Clown,” Abraham Fleury who had erroneously been reported as dead, and many others.
