Saturday Morning Yoga in Alger Co.- May 5

Munising, Mi. – Hosted by Yoga Borealis, Saturday Morning Yoga will be at the Alger Parks & Recreation Department this Saturday, May 5 from 10:30- 11:45 a.m.

Starting off with a general morning practice, this mixed level class will have students practicing basic yoga poses, sun salute, moon salute, basic breathing techniques, and short meditation.

NMU Commencement – May 5

Marquette, Mi.– NMU will host its Spring Commencement in the Superior Dome this Saturday, May 5, at 10:30 a.m.

  • The total of participants in the ceremony will be 825. The ceremony can be viewed live on WNMU-TV or online at
  • Guests are allowed a personal item 8.5 x 11 inches or smaller, which may be subject to search.
  • A demonstration area will be reserved in the grassy area between the Superior Dome and Physical Education Instructional Facility (PEIF).

Gov. Rick Snyder will be the keynote speaker.

Alexandra Camarillo-Lugo of Lake Forest, Calif., will serve as the student commencement speaker.

Hayley Kukulis of Marquette will be the soloist, leading the audience in the singing of the national anthem and “Hail Northern,” the alma mater.

This is a free event for children to make their mother a bracelet! There will be tables with beads, string, thread, cord, paper, coloring supplies… anything a kid needs to make the best present for mother’s day.

The gift will even be put in a Wattsson & Wattsson gift box and then wrapped!

Wide selections of sellers, each with their own booth and a large items room. There will also be a raffle for a $50 Target Gift card.
