Earth Day Potluck – April 22

Ishpeming, Mi.– The Ishpeming Elks Lodge and Partridge Creek Farms are hosting an Earth Day Potluck at the Elk’s Lodge this Sunday, April 22 from 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

  • Looking to volunteer at the potluck? Show up at the Elk’s Lodge the day of at 10:00 a.m. for coffee and assignments.
  • Everyone is invited to attend the 12:00 potluck at the Elks – chili, with farm-raised beef from Happy Day Farm, will be provided but individuals or local restaurants would really help a lot by bringing a dish to pass (please include an ingredient list!)
  • Activites will go on until 4:00 p.m. Partridge Creek Farm will have worm castings available for purchase to help get your home gardens started and Taste The Local Difference will be providing information on how to be more involved with local food systems.

Volunteer Training for Willow Farm Therapeutic Riding – April 22

Marquette, Mich.– Willow Farm Therapeutic  Riding is hosting a Volunteer Training this Sunday, April 22 from 4:30- 7:00 p.m.

If you are interested in working with horses and children with disabilities, this training is for you.

  • No experience needed
  • Must be able to walk for 2 hours

*Please wear closed toed shoes, tennis shoes or boots are preferred. Footing in the area is semi-firm sand.

Visit to fill out the paperwork prior to training (there will also be packets available to fill out during training).

NMU Choirs to Perform – April 22

“Music in a Grand Space”

Marquette, Mi. – The University Choir and Arts Chorale of NMU will present their “Music for a Grand Space” performance this Sunday, April 22, at 3:00 p.m. in the St. Peter Cathedral.

Under the direction of Dr. Erin Colwitz, the Choir and Arts Chorale of NMU will feature choral music especially suited for the Cathedral. Joined by brass and a wind octet, they will perform works by Brahms, Stravinsky, Britten, Holst, Palestrina, and Rutter among others.

This free event is open to the public.
