Marquette – The Fred Waara Chapter of Trout Unlimited will sponsor a “Fishing After Hours” program on Wednesday, March 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the Landmark Inn.

Bill Leder, Copper Country Chapter of Trout Unlimited, will discuss and show visuals of the Pilgrim River Watershed Project. A Michigan Tech graduate and Tech professor, Bill joined CCCTU in 2003 to learn about good U.P. fishing locations. He’s still waiting for his colleagues to share their secrets.

Marquette – The Marquette Regional History Center will present “The U.P. Centenarians Club” on Wednesday, March 7 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Center, 145 W. Spring Street in Marquette.

100 years is a milestone birthday! Hear the fascinating stories of area people who reached at least 100 years of age. Joseph Croiseter lived in 3 centuries, Jimmy Kishketog was the last full blooded Native American in Alger County, and long-time teacher Sarah Bottrell are just a sampling of stories that will inspire you.

As part of our 100th birthday celebrations, the Marquette Regional History Center is seeking information on the “UP Centenarians Club” and wish to include more residents who celebrated their 100th birthdays, both living and deceased. Please contact the History Center if you know someone who should be included.
