Calumet – The Copper Country Curling Club will be hold an Open House on Saturday, February 17 from noon to 3 p.m., and again on Monday, February 19 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Club behind the Calumet Colossem, next to the C-L-K school playground in Calumet.

The public is invited to stop in to check out the historic “Drill Shop” and to throw a few rocks.

Invent@NMU and Innovate Marquette SmartZone Celebrate Relaunch February 15th

Marquette — Invent@NMU and Innovate Marquette SmartZone are hosting a celebration of their collaboration on Thursday, Feb. 15, at the new Ampersand Coworking Space located in the UP Masonic Center. The gathering will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by their monthly Business on Tap series at 6:30 p.m. featuring speakers Peter Pless, professor of human-centered design from Northern Michigan University, and Jason Schneider, executive director of the Marquette Chamber of Commerce.

This event is to introduce the partnership between Invent@NMU and Innovate Marquette SmartZone, and provide an opportunity for the community to connect with their management and student teams. They look forward to highlighting the services their combined organizations can now provide to our growing ecosystem of entrepreneurs, inventors and small business owners.

Introduction to Michigan Air Emissions Reporting System (MAERS) 2018 Workshop Series

The Introduction to MAERS workshop series is being offered again this year to help companies submit their MAERS reports. Workshop participants will be taken step-by-step through the Web-based system in an interactive, hands-on format. Workshop participants will learn:

How to register as a user in MAERS
How to navigate the Web-based forms and utilities
How to complete and submit reports using MAERS

MAERS reports are due by March 15.

REGISTRATION COST: $80 (includes the MAERS Workbook and guidance materials)

CONTINUING EDUCATION: This workshop qualifies for 3 CEHs/PDHs for Professional Engineers.

Marquette – Museum After Dark: A Howling Good Time will be held on Saturday, February 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Marquette Regional History Museum, 145 W. Spring Street in Marquette.

The Museum After Dark kids’ adventure is in deep winter this year on Sled Dog Weekend, going to the dogs, and their ancestors. Enjoy special guests, activities, games, a scavenger hunt, a dog themed photo booth, snacks and surprises. The event is designed for age six and up.
