Marquette – The National Alliance on Mental Illness-Alger/Marquette will offer an educational meeting on Monday, January 29 at 7 p.m. in the Baraga Place Conference Room, 129 West Baraga Avenue, Marquette.

Kate LaBeau of Upper Peninsula Health Plan (UPHP) will speak about how to “Share Your Story” of what’s important to you, your goals, and your expectations for future healthcare. The way others offer help, care, and hope depends upon you discussing, reflecting, and recording your choices.

Marquette – Storytime for Non-Movers will be held on Monday, January 29 and Tuesday, January 30 from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.

There will be songs, rhymes, stories and fingerplays for babies not yet mobile and able to move away from their loving adult. Older siblings are asked NOT to attend. Adult social time and play time will be held after story time.

Calendar – Health – Diabetes PATH Workshop in Escanaba to Begin – Jan. 29

Escanaba – The Diabetes PATH (Personal Action Towards Health) workshop, a six week class, will meet on Mondays beginning on January 29 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at West Highland Apartments in Escanaba.

The workshop helps people living with daily challenges of diabetes, learn skills and tools needed to improve their health and manage their symptoms. Subjects covered include: symptoms of diabetes, stress, managing fatigue and emotional problems, exercise, healthy eating, medications, and working with health care providers.
