Marquette – The Cold War Film Series will offer a screening of the 1964 film “Seven Days in May” on Tuesday, January 16 at 7 p.m. in the Seminar Room of the Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center at Northern Michigan University.

Made in the wake of the Cuban Missile Crisis, this taunt thriller classic imagines a military coup in the U.S. and runs for 1 hour and 58 minutes. The film will be presented by Beaumier Center director, Daniel Truckey, and will be followed by a discussion.

Admission is free and popcorn will be available. The Center’s exhibition on the Cold War will be open for viewing until 6:45 p.m.… Read the rest

Marquette – Family Films Series will offer a screening of “Iron Will” on Tuesday, January 16 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.

In the action adventure film, William Stoneman decides to enter a dogsled race to raise money for his family who is struggling following the death of his father. The film was released in 1994, is rated PG, and runs for 1 hour and 48 minutes.

Escanaba – An American Red Cross Blood Drive will be held on Tuesday, January 16 from noon to 6 p.m. and on Wednesday, January 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Delta Plaza Mall in Escanaba.
