Ishpeming – Westwood Shakespeare Company will present an Improv Show on Wednesday, November 1 at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Westwood High School in Ishpeming.

Marquette – A Native American Quill and Beadwork Discussion and Workshop will be offered on Wednesday November 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Marquette Regional History Center, 145 W. Spring Street in Marquette.

Learn about the history of these traditional crafts from NMU Instructor Leora Lancaster and then try your hand at practicing some of the techniques. Materials are included in the workshop fee. The event is limited to 15 people, with advance sign up only. Workshop fee is $25, non-refundable.

Houghton – U.P. Area Agency on Aging/UPCAP will offer REST Training on Wednesday, November 1 and Thursday, November 2 from 1 to 5 p.m. with time built in for lunch and breaks, at the Copper Country Mental Health Institute, 900 West Sharon Avenue in Houghton. Attendance both days are required in order to receive certification as a REST companion. Sign in 15 minutes prior to class time.

Rest is an educational course that provides respite training to adults and teens who want to offer care to those in need and provide assistance to their caregivers. As a REST companion (volunteer or paid), you give the gift of your time to provide a valuable service.
