Marquette – Neighbors for a Kinder Community will host “A Circle of Compassion” on Tuesday, October 24 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Shiras Room of the Peter White Public Library.

Participants are encouraged to take turns sharing their thoughts, ideas, stories, poems, questions, songs, and/or responses on the topic of compassion, or simply listen. All are welcome free of charge. Neighbors for a Kinder Community are hosting this as the second of a series of events for strengthening one’s ability to implement The
Kinder Community Pledge.

Marquette -LGBTQIA Teens & Allies: Navigating Your Environment, Know Your Rights will be offered on Tuesday, October 24 from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Shiras Room of the Peter White Public Library.

All students in grades 7 to 12 are invited for a conversation with Stephanie Lange, MSW and Reproductive Health Supervisor for Chippewa Valley Schools, about their individual rights in school and out. Bring your questions and get some answers! Refreshments will be served.

Calendar – Education – Chocolay Raptor Center Live Raptor Program in Houghton- Oct. 24

Houghton – The Chocolay Raptor Center will present a live bird raptor program, sponsored by the Copper Country Audubon Society, on Tuesday, October 24 at 7 p.m. in Room G-002 of the Forestry Building/Hesterberg Hall at Michigan Tech in Houghton.

Live, rescued, non-releasable “ambassador raptors” on the glove will accompany the program, providing a unique and awe-inspiring experience. The public is invited and there is no charge.
