Marquette – Storytime for Non-Movers will be held on Monday, October 2 and Tuesday, October 3 from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.

There will be songs, rhymes, stories and fingerplays for babies not yet mobile and able to move away from their loving adult. Older siblings are asked NOT to attend. Adult social time and play time will be held after story time.

Marquette – Explore Tech: Engineering Makes a World of Difference Exhibit will be open from Monday, October 2 through Wednesday, October 11 during regular hours in the Kids Room at the Peter White Public Library in Marquette. PWPL hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Adults and children are encouraged to come check out this “Explore Tech” featuring an interactive computer kiosk with engineering games, informative display panels, and a Discovery Table with Cubelet Robots, LEGO and Duplos, Keva Planks Brain Teaser, Snap Circuits and more! Come explore engineering, and check out how engineers work in our community through the “Faces of Engineering” wall that will display pictures of community engineers at work.

Calendar – Health – PATH Workshops to Begin in Escanaba – Oct. 2

Escanaba – The Diabetes PATH (Personal Action Towards Health) workshop, a six week class, will meet on Tuesdays beginning on October 2 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at UPCAP, 2501 South 14th Avenue South in Escanaba.

The workshop helps people living with daily challenges of diabetes, learn skills and tools needed to improve their health and manage their symptoms. Subjects covered include: symptoms of diabetes, stress, managing fatigue and emotional problems, exercise, healthy eating, medications, and working with health care providers.

Calendar – Education – Cherry Creek School Association Meeting and Open House – Oct. 2

Marquette – The Cherry Creek School Association will host an Open House on Monday, October 2 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Cherry Creek School.

Families will be able to walk through the school to see all the changes and additions such as the new classrooms, lighting system, and short-throw projectors installed in the classrooms. Additionally, there is a new basketball court just beyond the new addition hallway exit and an improved Cherry Creek Nature Trail (courtesy of a local Boy Scout) to check out!
