Manistique – The Schoolcraft Conservation District will hold a scrap tire collection on Saturday, August 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Schoolcraft County Fairgrounds in Manistique.

Up to 8 tires per household will be allowed. No business or farm equipment tires, please. Tires must be clean, dry and unmounted with a maximum size up to 33 inches. The drive end when the container is full, which is approximately 500 tires.

Marquette – Build a Better World Book Fair #3 will be held on Saturday, August 5 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.

Having read a minimum of 20 minutes a day for at least 10 days, come pick out your 3rd and final free book of the summer! Make sure to bring your reading log as you must have it to get your book. Remember to record your minutes/hours. Participants in the summer reading program collectively need to reach 8,000 hours of reading by the end of summer to earn the ice-cream library lock-in!
