Calumet – The Movie Magic Film Series will present a screening of “Maleficent” on Wednesday, August 2 at 7 p.m. at the Calumet Theatre, 340 Sixth Street in Calumet.

Admission is $1 per person with fresh popcorn and concessions for sale. Kids 13 and under have a chance to win prizes including a bike. Marquette – The Marquette Regional History Center will offer a Historic Bus Tour on Tuesday, August 1 at 1 p.m. beginning at the Center on Spring Street in Marquette.

Take an entertaining, narrated journey through Marquette. The tour is commemorating World War I during the centennial of the Great War. The route takes you through the Historic District, down to the waterfront, and through the streets of Marquette. You will learn interesting historical facts about the Queen City of the North as you hear a general history narration throughout the journey from your tour guide. Through colorful characters that hop on the bus to share their stories, you will learn how the people of Marquette were affected by the Great War, and what everyday life was like here one hundred years ago.

Marquette – “Creating Confident Caregivers” workshops will start on Tuesday, August 1 from 2 to 5 p.m. in Marquette.

Creating Confident Caregivers is a program in select regions of Michigan, for family caregivers of persons with dementia and/or memory loss. Creating Confident Caregivers is a six-session workshop led by trained dementia care specialists. This university tested program provides participants with information, skills and attitudes to manage stress and increase their effectiveness as a Caregiver.
