Munising – Boy Scout Camp Hiawatha’s 50 Year Anniversary Celebration will offer a tour of the camp on Friday, July 14 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The camp is at E6350 Doe Lake Road, Munising.

Tours are free, but you must sign in when you get to the camp. Lunch with the camp staff will be offered at noon for $6 and supper with the whole camp will be offered at 5:54 p.m. for $7.

A re-dedication of the Camp Hiawatha Doc Jewel Pavilion will take place at 12:45 p.m. Dr. Robert Albert Jewel passed away at the age of 93 in December of 2015. He dedicated many decades to Camp Hiawatha and many high quality campsites at Camp Hiawatha are the result of his long and consistent leadership. … Read the rest

Marquette – LEGO Mania for ages 5 and up will be held on Friday, July 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.

Calendar – Music – “Forestville 2017” Craft Beer and Music Festival – July 14-15

Marquette – The 3rd annual craft beer and music festival known as “Forestville 2017” will take place on Saturday, July 15 at the Noquemanon Trail Network’s Trailhead off CR HT in Marquette Township.

The Friday night mini-Forestville, created with the overnight camper in mind, will start at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 14. There will be music, beer and camping fun. Only campers will be allowed access to this aspect of the event. Camping spots for RV’s and tent sites while they last, will be available.

The Saturday event will be limited to 1000 attendees 21 years of age and older. There will be 11 hours of music, a variety of the region’s best brews and the local food truck vendors will be on hand.

Due to limited parking at Forestville a convenient shuttle service from the Superior Dome will begin Saturday morning and will run throughout the evening.… Read the rest

Calendar – Films/Documentaries – Dinner and Movie Series Prime Rib Buffet and Screening of “Citizen Kane” – July 14

Calumet – The Dinner and Movie Series will present a screening of “Citizen Kane” on Friday, July 14 with dinner at 6 p.m. and the movie at 7:15 p.m. at the historic Calumet Theatre, 340 Sixth Street in Calumet.

The dinner will be a prime rib buffet with all the trimmings, including appetizers, a vegetarian option, and desserts by Victoria’s Kitchen. Tickets for dinner and the movie are $18. Tickets for the movie only are $7.

As an added extra to this evening, you are invited to “dress to the nines” (wear those fancy clothes!) to set the stage for dinner eaten by the well-to-do as Kane made his climb up society’s ladder. The best dressed (voted on by the dinner attendees) wins a ticket for a Calumet Theatre performance!
