Location: Marquette, Michigan – Unless you are willing to move, please realize we are not looking for anyone who isn’t local. Because of the board-op section of this job, we absolutely need someone who can work IN Marquette IN our studios. This is not a job that can be done remotely. Position Type: Part-time Producer, Board-Op, On-Air Talent with opportunity for full-time depending on skills and availability.

Trenary – Great Northern Poultry and Livestock Connection (GNPLC) will host a fur and feather swap and flea market on Saturday, June 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Holmquist Feed Mill in Trenary.

A silent auction will run from 10 a.m. to noon. Donations for the auction will be accepted and appreciated. There will be a 50/50 raffle, concessions will be available, as well as a bake goods fundraiser.

GNPLC members may sell for free, and non-members pay $5 to sell. Membership is $15 per year/per family. Admission to the event is free to the public. All dogs must be on a lease. All poultry will be tested and there is a fee for the test.

Gwinn – A spaghetti dinner benefit for Kelly Girard will be held on Saturday, June 24 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Gwinn High School, 50 West M35 in Gwinn.

This benefit includes a spaghetti dinner, basket raffle, and a bake sale. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for children, $20 for a family (2 adults & 2 children) and free for children 5 & under.

Kelly Girard is a charismatic, outdoor-loving husband and father. About two months ago his life changed forever. Kelly was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis, hypertension, and COPD. He is currently awaiting a bilateral lung transplant. Kelly will undergo the transplant surgery at the University of Minnesota. After recovering from the surgery and being released, Kelly and his wife, Judy (a long time Gwinn teacher), are required to live within 15 minutes of the hospital for at least 3 months.… Read the rest

Houghton – PJ Olsson’s Rock Camp auditions will be held on Saturday, June 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, June 25 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts in Houghton.

Young musicians, ages 12 to 19, interested in attending the 2017 session of Rock Camp are encouraged to register online at www.pjsrockcamp.com and participate in the open audition process. The two-week program runs July 24 through August 4, with the final concert on Saturday, August 5.

Camp provides a unique opportunity to bring kids together through music in a positive, safe, and enriching environment, with a final concert that inspires an entire community.
