Calendar – Youth – Chapter Book Club Meeting – Apr. 17

Marquette – Chapter Book Club, for ages 8 to 12, will meet on Monday, April 17 from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Youth Atrium of the Peter White Public Library.

Listen to a chapter a week, illustrate that chapter, and then create your own book of illustrations. This month will feature Adam Gidwitz’s “A Tale Dark and Grimm.”

Marquette – Book Babies, for ages 0 to 24 months, will be offered on Monday, April 17 and Wednesday, April 19 from 10:30 to 10:50 a.m. each day in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.

Calendar – Health – NMU Exercise Science Seminar Series Presentations – Apr. 17

Marquette – Northern Michigan University’s 2017 Exercise Science Seminar Series will present “Exercise and Quality of Life in Parkinson’s Patients: Improving bradykinesia, balance and tremors” by Alicia Denherder, on Monday, April 17 at 6:15 p.m., followed by a 7:15 p.m. presentation titled “The Effects of Exercise Training on Improving Strength and Cardiovascular Fitness in Persons with Down Syndrome” by Rachel Greco. Both presentations will be in room 241 of the Physical Education Instructional Facility at NMU.

The presentations are free and open to the public.

Beaumer Concert Features Jerry Mills, Northern Wylds – 4/15/17

Marquette, MIApril 14, 2017 – The Beaumier Coffee House Series will present performances by Jerry Mills and the duo Northern Wylds. The concert begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 15, in the Panowski Black Box Theatre in the McClintock Building at Northern Michigan University.

Mills is an internationally acclaimed keynote speaker, trainer, singer-songwriter and educator. Northern Wylds consists of Natalie Ray on vocals and viola and Nicklas Johnson on guitar. Their set list balances an equal amount of original music and indie cover tunes.
