Escanaba – UPCAP’s Michigan Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program will offer a free “Welcome to Medicare” seminar on Thursday, March 2 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the UPCAP Lower Conference Room, 2501 14th Avenue South, Escanaba.

The seminar is targeted towards folks that will be eligible for Medicare sometime within the next six months. Learn the basics of Medicare, and discuss what folks should be thinking about when making decisions on their Medicare choices. Information about programs that may be available to help pay out-of-pocket Medicare costs will also be discussed.

There is no charge to attend this informational event and a helpful workbook will be provided to each participant. Escanaba – “Creating Confident Caregivers” workshops will start on Thursday, March 2 from 2 to 4 p.m. in Escanaba.

Creating Confident Caregivers is a program in select regions of Michigan, for family caregivers of persons with dementia and/or memory loss. Creating Confident Caregivers is a six-session workshop led by trained dementia care specialists. This university tested program provides participants with information, skills and attitudes to manage stress and increase their effectiveness as a Caregiver.

Ishpeming – The Feeding America truck will be at CrossBridge Church, 119 N. Third Street in Ishpeming on Thursday, March 2.

Anyone needing food is welcome. Items will be distributed according to last name. G-L: 9:30 a.m. M-R: 10 a.m. S-Z: 10:30 a.m. A-F: 11 a.m.
