Network News Director
News Director Walt Lindala is a veteran of 20 years of covering news and public affairs in Upper Michigan. Walt began his News career in 1987 on the campus of Northern Michigan University at Public Radio 90, WNMU-FM where he hosted the morning news for nearly a decade. In 1997, Walt came to Great Lakes Radio and has served as Network News Director since! Walt is an award-winning broadcast journalist recognized by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters over 12 times for excellence in news reporting and event coverage. In spare time, Walt plays guitar and sings in the Flat Broke Blues Band, a group he founded in 1991. As an active resident of the community, Walt has served many civic positions on boards for both the City and County of Marquette, Northern Michigan University, Lake Superior Community Partnership, Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, WUPX Student Radio, Marquette Area Blues Society, the Boy Scouts of America, United Way of Marquette County and more!
