Marquette – Northern Michigan University’s Lake Effect Show Choir will present its 11th Annual TASTE Concert on Wednesday, April 26 and Thursday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m. each evening in the Great Lakes Rooms of the University Center at NMU.
This will be a night of musical entertainment complemented by appetizers, desserts and beverages. This year’s event revolves around a “Road Trip!” theme.

Marquette – The Bluesday Tuesday Concert Series will offer a concert by Bahluze on Tuesday, April 25 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
Bahluze consists of four seasoned local musicians who have played music throughout their lives and have decided to perform a genre of music that they truly love—blues. Derrell Syria plays guitar and sings lead vocals. Dave Ziegner plays bass and sings. Paul Neumann is the drummer and Gary Parkkonen plays the keys. These four musicians will impress and entertain you with both original and rearranged versions of blues tunes.

Houghton – A “Together In Song” Concert will be held on Monday, April 24 at 7 p.m. at the Rozsa Center on the campus of MTU in Houghton.
The Keweenaw Music Educators’ Association is excited to present this concert featuring elementary, middle and high school choirs from across Houghton County Public Schools.

Marquette – A free “Concert for the Great Lakes” featuring Song of the Lakes and storyteller Norm Wheeler, will be presented on Monday, April 24 at 7 p.m. in Kaufman Auditorium in Marquette.
This free community concert will feature the remarkable talents of the beloved Michigan based band Song of the Lakes performing songs from their recently released soundtrack to the legendary children’s book “Paddle to the Sea.”
The Superior Watershed Partnership, Music for All Kids and the Marquette Area Public Schools have collaborated on a grant through the Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative to increase awareness of our local Great Lakes Stewardship through music. Marquette – The first Battle of the Bands will be held on Saturday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Forest Roberts Theatre on the campus of Northern Michigan University.
Seven Upper Peninsula bands will compete for a cash prize. The bands competing are Now Society Fails, The Portraits, White Knuckle Slave, Heel Click, Unhushed Grace, Our Last Vision, and Lumi. In addition to watching the performances, attendees can purchase raffle tickets for items including gift certificates and a $500 scholarship. All items have been donated by local businesses.
Students enrolled in the entertainment technology class are using the event as an applied service project. Forest Roberts Theatre and Double Trouble Entertainment are producing the event as a way to promote and showcase regional music.

Marquette – The Marquette Choral Society will present “Sure on this Shining Night: Celebrating Finland’s Centennial with 100 years of Finnish and American Music” on Saturday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, April 23 at 3 p.m. at Reynolds Recital Hall on the campus of Northern Michigan University.
