Marquette – All area youth are invited to celebrate New Year’s Eve at the 22nd Annual Elementary Ball on Sunday, December 31 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum in Marquette.

There will be music, snacks, party favors and fun for everyone. There will be the exciting Ball Drop at 7:30 p.m. outside the museum.

Ishpeming – A Community Christmas Dinner will be served on Monday, December 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ishpeming Elks Lodge.

The meal will include traditional holiday favorites such as turkey, ham, stuffing, cranberry sauce, potatoes, gravy and dessert. This free meal is provided by the community and is open all.

Take out and free delivery will be available in western Marquette County, including Palmer. For those choices, RSVP to 486-6890. Those wishing to volunteer to help with the meal may also call that number.

Marquette – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will offer a self-guided tour of a crèche collection that includes more than 300 pieces from around the world on Thursday, December 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. and on Thursday, January 4 from 7 to 9 p.m. at 128 Timber Lane in Marquette.

NCLL member Carol Margriff began collecting crèches or Nativities in 1966 and has shared them with the community over the past 50 years.
