Beetle the Mac and Blues & Brews Festival – August 3-4

St. Ignace, MI – Join us for the inaugural Beetle the Mac AND the inaugural Brews and Blues Festival! Herbie the Love Bug will be leading the lineup of Beetles across the Mackinac Bridge Saturday morning. Michigan Lighthouse Festival – August 3

Paradise, MI – Have a great adventure this summer and attend the 3rd Michigan Lighthouse Festival in Paradise, MI. Activities start with a Kick-Off Dinner and Program at the Bay Mills Resort & Casino, Friday evening, August 3. Special programs are scheduled Saturday (August 4) and Sunday (August 5) at Whitefish Point Light Station, Crisp Point Lighthouse, and Point Iroquois Lighthouse. A Lighthouse Marketplace will be at the Whitefish Township Community Center, just south of Paradise, MI, Saturday and Sunday. 111th Annual Central Mine Reunion Church Service – July 30

Central, MI – Central is essentially a Copper Country ghost town. One of the few remaining buildings is the Central Mine Methodist Church. A simple wood structure constructed by the miners in 1868 with materials donated by the mine owners. The once prosperous Central Copper Mine closed in 1898 and the population of miners and families moved on to other opportunities for work.

In 1907 several prominent men in the area developed an idea to hold a reunion/homecoming service in the old Central Church. All former residents and workers were invited and encouraged to bring food and spend time visiting. The event was so well received and successful that the decision was made to hold a second Reunion service the following year. That event was also deemed a success and a third Reunion Service was planned for 1909. Initially the Reunion was attended only by former mine workers and residents.… Read the rest

2018 Rendezvous in the Sault – July 28

Sault Ste. Marie, MI – Rendezvous is a living history event filled with historical re-enactors, musicians, entertainers, and merchants who will set up camps and displays with presentations and demonstrations on military and civilian life from 1668-1840. Food, music, dancing, cannon firing, drum and fife corps, puppet shows, storytelling, crafts, and games will be just some of the fun things to see and do on Saturday and Sunday of the last full weekend of July. Downtown Blueberry Festival in Marquette

Marquette, MI – The 17th annual Blueberry Festival is set for Friday, July 27, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Downtown Marquette. Washington and Front streets will be bustling with sidewalk sales, food vendors, artists, demonstrations, pony rides, inflatable arcade games, and activities for children and families. Downtown restaurants will satisfy your cravings for blueberry fare, from blueberry pizza to blueberry beer, while many downtown shops offer will offer “blue” specials. Local farmers will be on-hand throughout the day selling fresh produce, including mounds of plump blueberries and music fills the streets as live musicians perform throughout the day.
