Van Riper State Park – Kayaking 101 and 202 – August 25

Champion, MI – Venture to Van Riper State Park to learn the basics of kayaking from 1-3pm. We will talk about different types of kayaks as well as safety and techniques while kayaking. We will meet on the beach and once we have down the basics we will go for a paddle on Lake Michigamme. From 5-7pm, we will have a more advanced kayaking paddle for those who are comfortable with kayaking and just want to get out with a group and paddle, we will meet on the beach for these events. Previous kayaking experience is required for Kayaking 202. Events are Weather permitting. You must call 906-339-4461 to sign up, equipment available for first 12 registrants. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
