Marquette, MI – Every summer on the Fourth of July, residents of Marquette and the surrounding area gather to watch the parade, enjoy delicious food, and take in a spectacular fireworks in Downtown Marquette. The Exchange Club’s International Food Fest, https://www.facebook.com/events/1845980378808421/ , will open on Monday, July 2 and will run through Wednesday, July 4. The parade will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, featuring the theme “You’re a Grand Old Flag.” Beginning at the intersection of McClellan Avenue and Washington Street, it proceeds east on Washington Street to South Third Street. Parade applications can be found on the Kiwanis website , http://www.marquettekiwanis.org/. The fireworks will follow at dusk in Lower Harbor’s Mattson Park. The fireworks fundraising poster, j.McCarthy Photography’s iconic image of Marquette’s magnificent fireworks display over the Lower Harbor Ore Dock, is available for purchase at the Travel Marquette office, 117 West Washington Street, Marquette.
