Marquette – A celebration of life and commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the death of Bishop Fredric Baraga will be held on Friday, January 19 and Saturday, January 20 at St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette.
The celebration will begin on Friday with a Solemn Mass for the Dead at 5:30 p.m. Following the mass there will be a meal, and then a world premiere of an installment of “They Might Be Saints: Bishop Frederic Baraga” from EWTN featuring the life of Bishop Frederic Baraga. Michael O’Neill, “The Miracle Hunter,” will give a presentation following the documentary.
Saturday events will include Mass at 8 a.m. presentations, a snowshoe hike, meals, and interactive family activities throughout the day. For a complete schedule and registration information, go to
