Calendar – Films/Documentaries – Modern Classics to Screen “Doubt” – Aug. 17

August 14, 2017

Marquette – Modern Classics Film Series will offer a screening of “Doubt” on Thursday, August 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.

Released in 2008, this mystery, set in the Bronx in 1964, pits charismatic, reformative Father Flynn against St. Nicholas Catholic School’s strict conservative principal Aloysius Beauvier. When Sister James expresses her belief that Father Flynn is paying too much attention to Donald, the school’s first black student, Sister Aloysius uses this information to start a crusade against Father Flynn with the hope of retaining the school’s strict disciplinary culture.

The movie is rated PG-13 and runs 1 hour 44 minutes. There is no admission charge to attend thanks to sponsorship by the Friends of the Peter White Public Library. For more information, visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
