Marquette – The World War I Remembered Series will offer a screening of “The Wipers Times” on Thursday, May 11 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.

Starring Ben Chaplin and Patrick FitzSymons, this WWI drama tells how Fred Roberts, with the help of Sergeant Harris, creates a satirical magazine after finding a working printing press in Ypres, Belgium. This 2013 TV film is rated TV-13 and runs 1 hour 32 minutes. You may bring your own meal to enjoy the movie in a dinner theater setting.

“World War I Remembered” is a community commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the U.P.’s involvement in World War I and is made possible in part by a grant from the Michigan Humanities Council, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
