Marquette – Rose Bowl MVP and football coaching legend Carl “Buck” Nystrom will present “Thoughts and Stories on Leadership and Life” on Tuesday, March 21 at 4 p.m. in the Brule Room of the University Center at Northern Michigan University.
Nystrom is a Marquette native who earned All-American honors as a player and scholar at Michigan State University. He captained the Spartans to the Rose Bowl championship in 1965 and was named Most Valuable Player. Nystrom then gained national prominence as an offensive line coach at Oklahoma, Colorado, MSU and NMU. Diagnosed with terminal cancer three years ago, Nystrom is currently in remission.
The public is invited, but because this is a Skill Builder event through the NMU Student Leader Fellowship Program, advance registration is required at www.nmu.edu/skillbuilders to ensure adequate space.
