Marquette – Shakespeare Readers will read “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead” on Wednesday, December 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the Shiras Room of the Peter White Public Library.
Written by Tom Stoppard, this play expands upon the exploits of two minor characters from Shakespeare’s “Hamlet,” the courtiers Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. The action of Stoppard’s play takes place mainly “in the wings” of Shakespeare’s, with brief appearances of major characters from Hamlet who enact fragments of the original’s scenes.
Shakespeare Readers reads the works of and related to William Shakespeare in order to better understand the writing of the Bard himself. They meet on the first Wednesday of each month and new readers are always welcome.
