MARQUETTE, MI – An evening of Upper Peninsula Nature Writing will take place on Wednesday, September 24 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library located at 217 N. Front Street in Marquette, Mich.
Writers from across the Upper Peninsula will read their entries in the Second Annual Nature Writing Contest. Kathleen Heideman of Marquette, was the winner of the Nature Writing Contest with her writing of Attending Every Tiny Funeral. All entrants from the contest will be invited to read their work and talk about nature writing. Members of the public are also welcome to read their writings related to nature in the U.P. There will be a photo presentation by Chris Burnett, UP Nature Photographer and Program Director with the U.P. Land Conservancy. This event is sponsored by North Country Publishing and Falling Rock Café and Bookstore with cooperation from the City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center.
