Friends of the Negaunee Public Library Book Sale July 11

NEGAUNEE — The Friends of the Negaunee Library will hold its Annual Pioneer Days Book Sale on Thursday, July 11th, at the Negaunee Senior Center. The Senior Center is two blocks west of the Library at the foot of Jackson St Those attending the sale may use the door of the Senior Center on Tobin Street.

Last year, the book sale had over 1200 books for sale. Prices continue to remain at 50 cents for hard cover books, 25 cents for softcover, and only ten cents for all children’s books. It is one of two fund-raising projects of the year for the Friends of the Library, and last year over $800.00 was earned. The Friends of the Library continue to provide for many unbudgeted items for the use of the public at the Library.

The Friends of the Library welcome all those attending the sale and also invite all to become a Friend of the Library. The Friends also provide a Valentine Tea at the Library during the winter. This will be the thirty-third anniversary of the Friends, beginning its first book sale during Pioneer Week in 1980.

The sale will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:00. Beginning at 2:00, books may be purchased for $1.00 a bag. . Those wishing to still donate books may drop them off at the Library up to July 10, or at the Senior Center on July 10 for the July 11 sale.
