Waterfront Safety Plans For The City Of Marquette, MI

June 10, 2011

(MARQUETTE, MI) – The City of Marquette Waterfront Safety Task Force is beginning to implement several of their suggestions and ideas as the summer swimming season approaches. Some of these changes include placement of buoys in key locations in the water near popular beaches in Marquette and having lifeguards stationed at others.

Gary Gustafson, task force member, joined Mark and Walt this morning to outline these plans and others that are going into effect on beaches in the city. He mentioned that there had been some mis-information about some of the changes and new plans that had been reported in the Marquette community. Gustafson explained the key plans as developed by the task force.
