AN UPDATE WITH CONGRESSMAN BART STUPAK

U.S. Representative Bart Stupak (D-Menominee) joined MARK & WALT in the MORNING today to discuss the latest developments from his perspective as the the health care debate lurches forward in Washington, D.C.. The Congressman shared his thoughts on the latest maneuvers by the House leadership in the effort to pass the measure even if all of the votes are not there in the House. He also explained why, although it is legal and in bounds of legislative procedure, the “deem and pass” technique is muddying the waters and serving to confuse the general public. He also said that although his amendment-supporting coalition of House members is strong, he alone cannot stop health care reform from passing.
