Fundraising Event Community Day Nov. 19

The Marquette Younkers store invites customers to support Community Day, a fundraising event held in store on November 19, 2005. Each day the Marquette Younkers store strives to be a good corporate leader in its community said Debbie Hatcher, Store Manager. The Community Day event is part of supporting our local community. The members of the participating non-profit agencies and restaurants are outstanding individuals, I feel fortunate to get to know them. Volunteers from the groups work side-by-side with our associates assisting customers. The participating restaurants sponsor one hour of the event, then similar to a relay they pass off the baton to the next restaurant. The Community Day event is a wonderful reminder that Marquette County is great place to live. Community Day will be held from 600am-1000pm. Participating community organizations raise money from the event by retaining all revenue from the sale of $5 tickets for the event. The tickets offer customers rare discounts in every department throughout the store, unique special offers and a chance to participate in a drawing for a trip to Mexico. Corporatewide to date the event has raised $21 million the Fall 2004 event raised just under $25,000 for U.P. charities.
