Marquette, MI – November 8, 2018 – Canadian political theorist Ronald Beiner will present “Dangerous Minds in Dangerous Times” at Northern Michigan University. His talk is scheduled from 7-9 pm on Thursday, November 15 in the Ontario Room of the University Center. Admission is free and light refreshments will be provided. Beiner will explore themes from his latest book, Dangerous Minds: Nietzsche, Heidegger, and the Return of the Far Right.
Beiner is chair of the political science at the University of Toronto, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and author of many books on political theory. His talk will cover topics including the rise of the alt-right and the role of political philosophy in educating citizens. NMU professor Jonathan Allen will present a short response, followed by a Q&A, discussion and debate
